Vote Watermelon Campaign Begins. - votewatermelon.ca

Mary Jean Dunsdon is a popular Vancouver activist, businesswoman, model, and entertainer. Better known as "Watermelon," she has been a local community leader for over twenty years.

Once known for selling watermelon slices and cannabis cookies on Wreck Beach, she is now the owner of The Licorice Parlour on Commercial Drive, with a second location recently opened on Granville Island.

"I love Vancouver, and I want to give back to this incredible city," says Watermelon. "I want to bring a fresh voice to the city council. I don't like seeing good local cannabis dispensaries being threatened with closure, or people being banned from doing yoga in public parks. I believe in a city that makes room for everyone."

"I support human rights, diversity, and environmental stewardship.

I don't like how our current city council is quick to ban and prohibit things for personal or moralistic reasons.

I believe in a "more fun city" which embraces cannabis legalization, modern technology, and local communities."
